On July 1, the Han-Schneider International Children’s Foundation hosted the 3rd Annual Sam Han Classic charity golf tournament. The shotgun tournament – held at the Montebello Country Club – drew 70 golfers of all different skill levels. Each golfer received a goodie bag filled with essential necessities to get through the day. They were also automatically entered into 3 contests consisting of a long drive competition, closest to the pin and our featured $10,000 cash hole-in-one. Unfortunately, the pressure proved too much for many of the golfers as the grand prize once again went unclaimed. Despite that fact, the golfers all enjoyed themselves as we enjoyed one of the cooler days of the summer and remained hydrated with the refreshments donated by Classic Distributions.
When the dust settled, one team reigned supreme. Ron Chew, Travis Takahashi, Keith Lickitwongse, and Alfonso Heredia won the team aspect of the tournament with a team best ball score of 63 (-8) – with Keith Lickitwongse taking the men’s individual low score with a 70 and Linda Han taking the women’s individual low score with a 89. This year, the tournament added two new prize categories with the best dressed golfer, won by Angela Lee, and highest individual score.
The event was wrapped up with a BBQ reception where the winners of all contests were announced and raffle prizes were awarded. The speeches given by Director of Operations Zachary Lopez and Executive Director Arthur Han highlighted the newest program in Baja California, Mexico that serves nearly 4,300 children. A special thank you to our sponsors who made the reception possible – Roger and Mindy Lopez, Jordan and Leslie Lopez, Payden & Rygel, and Steve and Denise Botsford with Anchor Pacifica. In total, the event raised more than $10,000 which will greatly impact our children under the Operation B.O.O.K program.
Thank you to everyone who attended our 3rd Annual Sam Han Classic.
